The Saic Z7 and the Z7T are sister models that have common design language, powertrain, and equipment. Their exterior styling was clearly inspired by the Porsche Taycan and the Taycan Cross Turismo. The two cars boast similar dimensions of 5036/1975/1465 mm with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. They ride on staggered R20 wheels with 245/45 tires in the front and 275/40 in the rear.

AUDI (in capital letters) is a new China-only brand that focuses only on electric cars. The new brand without the classic “Four Rings” was launched in November 2024. It currently sells one model – AUDI E5 Sportback – a sleek wagon packed with SAIC technologies. The E7X was first unveiled as the AUDI E SUV concept last November, then appeared on regulatory filings the next month.

The Buick GL8 Encasa EV 5.3-meter minivan with 646 hp was launched exclusively in China for 489,900 yuan (70,425 USD) as the SAIC-GM joint venture broadens its product lineup. This seven-seat family driver speeds up to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and has 601 km of range under CLTC conditions.
The Buick GL8 is a well-known minivan designed specifically for the Chinese market. It is being assembled by the joint venture between SAIC and General Motors. Its fourth generation was launched in 2022 and got a facelift a couple of years later. Recently, the GL8 turned into an independent series with several models available for purchase.
In December 2025, Buick launched the PHEV variant of the GL8 minivan called GL8 Encasa. It has a price range of 439,900 – 469,900 yuan (63,240 – 67,550 USD). Its cumulative deliveries reached 8,029 units, according to China EV DataTracker. On March 17, Buick kicked off sales of the all-electric GL8 Encasa to compete with the Zeekr 009, the Li Mega, the Xpeng X9, and other battery electric minivans.

A Chinese energy infrastructure company backed by investors including Nio will cooperate with BYD to deploy Flash Charging stations in China, expanding beyond its earlier focus on battery-swap infrastructure, according to Zhong’an Energy. The development highlights the growing overlap between China’s ultra-fast charging networks and Nio’s battery-swap ecosystem.
Following BYD’s unveiling of flash-charging technology, Zhong’an Energy decided to cooperate with the automaker to deploy flash-charging stations. The agreement adds a second energy infrastructure approach to the company’s portfolio.
The arrangement creates an unusual alignment within China’s EV supply chain. Zhong’an Energy’s shareholders include a battery manufacturer and a carmaker that both compete with BYD in the electric vehicle market.
Despite those competitive overlaps, infrastructure operators are increasingly positioning themselves to support multiple charging approaches rather than relying exclusively on a single ecosystem such as battery swapping.

Saic (Shangjie), the brand collaborated by Huawei and SAIC under HIMA, has announced today that its recently unveiled mid-to-large size sedans, the Saic Z7 and Saic Z7T, are set to officially debut and open for pre-orders on March 23.

Both models have already completed their Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) declarations and will fully integrate Huawei’s Tuling platform and Qiankun intelligent driving systems. They are positioned to compete in the 250,000 to 350,000 yuan (36,200 to 50,700 USD) price segment.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the updated Xiaomi SU7 will launch on March 19, with the company positioning the revised model as a refinement of its first production electric sedan following roughly two years of engineering updates. The updated model carries a pre-sale price range of 229,900–309,900 yuan (33,320–44,910 USD).
The revised SU7 introduces updates to its powertrain and charging architecture across the lineup. Standard and Pro versions move from the earlier high-voltage setup to a 752 V platform, while the flagship Max variant adopts an 897 V architecture, approaching the next generation of ultra-high-voltage EV charging systems.
eXiaomi also stated that the Max version can add up to 670 km of driving range in a 15-minute charging session, according to company figures. Range figures for the CLTC cycle are 720 km for the Standard version, 902 km for the Pro variant, and 835 km for the Max model. The updated model also standardises the V6S Plus electric motor across the lineup. Output increases were reported for several variants, though the company did not disclose motor power in kilowatts.
