Ford Mustang Super Cobra Jet 1800
Ford is not the first brand that comes to mind when it comes to racing electric cars, but the company has considerable experience in this field. Ford is not limited to the records set with the crazy Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400.
Ford Mustang Super Cobra Jet 1800 is not just verbosity. This is a new electric drag racing weapon that will change perceptions and crush quarter mile records. Compared to the previous Cobra Jet, it has a new transmission system and batteries, as well as a redesigned rear axle for better grip. It also works on new monitoring and data collection systems to help with setup.
The Super Cobra Jet 1800 is still powered by the same two DS-250-115 motors as before, combined with four PN-250-DZR inverters. However, Ford was able to configure the system so that it produced 1,800 horsepower, instead of 1,500 hp earlier. The new lightweight battery also plays a role in these benefits. Along with other modifications, it also helped to shed hundreds of pounds from the car.
Ford's hope is that the new model will beat the previous quarter-mile record for full-size electric vehicles set by the Cobra Jet 1400. In 2021, he achieved a quarter-mile time in just 8.128 seconds at 171.97 mph with Bob Tuska III at the wheel.
Ford also hopes that the car will set records for the fastest EV acceleration time to 60 mph, both in two-wheeled and general classifications.
Attempts to set the record will take place at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas from April 14 to 16.

Although Tesla has one of the fastest electric cars registered on the road, Ford dominates the track very much. It remains to be seen whether this will translate into greater performance for the company's "road" cars.
