New Baojun KiWi EV Launched In China

Baojun KiWi EV

Baojun KiWi EV 2023 is officially presented in China with three models at a price of 87 800-102 800 yuan (12 500-14 700 US dollars). The car is a mini-electric vehicle of the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture and is the world's first production car powered by new energy, equipped with autonomous driving technology from drone manufacturer DJI (this technology is available only for top models).

The car is generally cute and futuristic, aimed at a younger group of consumers. The concave shape of the front part further improves the suspension of the upper part of the car. From the outside, the upper part of the ship looks like a suspended space capsule.

The dimensions of the car are 2894/1655/1595 mm with a wheelbase of 2020 mm. The wheel has a four-leaf clover-style rim design. The car also comes with hidden door handles.

In terms of safety, the Baojun KiWi EV 2023 is equipped with more advanced binocular cameras from DJI, a millimeter-range radar, 12 ultrasonic radars and a DJI autonomous driving domain controller to achieve level 2+ driving assistance capabilities with features such as adaptive cruise control. , lane change, lane keeping, obstacle avoidance and automatic parking.

For example, when the car's speed is below 60 km/h, the driver can activate the automatic lane change assistance function by switching the turn indicator lever. If another vehicle approaches from behind while trying to change lanes to the target lane, the KiWi EV can detect the approaching vehicle and accelerate the lane change. Similarly, if there is another car in front of the target lane, the KiWi EV slows down when changing lanes.

The interior is equipped with two 10.25-inch screens. The central control screen is equipped with voice control and navigation. A large area is covered with suede material. A person with a height of 167 cm (pictured above) can comfortably sit in the car.

The car is equipped with a 31.9 kWh battery and a rear engine with a maximum power of 40 kW (50 kW for the DJI version) and a maximum torque of 150 Nm. The maximum power reserve of the NEDC is 305 km (301 km for the DJI version). In DC fast charging mode, it takes 1 hour to charge the battery from 30% to 80%.
