Former Tesla and Lucid engineers create a new electric car
British startup Longbow, founded by former Tesla and Lucid engineers, has unveiled the first prototype of the Speedster electric sports car. It took just six months from concept to completion!
The electric sports car weighs 895 kg, making it much lighter than modern electric cars, which typically weigh two tons.
The Longbow Speedster is equipped with a 330 hp rear motor, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The range on a single charge is claimed to be 440 km (278 mi) according to the WLTP cycle.
The company plans to release a limited edition of 150 units priced at £84,995 (approximately $112,000).
Longbow's founders intend to "radically reimagine electric sports cars, aiming to bring back the lightness and agility of sports cars in the era of heavy batteries."
Production and delivery of the Longbow Speedster is scheduled to begin in 2026.
