New Mercedes Electric Buses - eCitaro in Darmstadt.
The vehicles were handed over by Rüdiger Kappel, Head of Sales Public Transport Germany at Daimler Buses, and André Herrmann, Head of Sales Public Transport Hesse at Daimler Buses, to the Managing Directors of HEAG mobilo Johannes Gregor and Arne Rath with a symbolic presentation of the charging facility at the Böllenfalltor station.
The new eCitaro is equipped with a battery of the NMC3 generation. This means that the eCitaro articulated bus with seven installed battery packs achieves a total capacity of 686 kWh and a range of around 220 kilometers, Daimler Buses says. The vehicles are charged at the depot via sockets. The charging sockets are located on the right and left near the front axle.
