Tesla Launches an Academy for Robots
Tesla has unveiled a new approach to training its Optimus androids, with plans to begin mass production as early as this year. In effect, some Tesla robots will be tasked with training others. This group of "trainers" is being assembled as part of the newly established "Optimus Academy."
Within the Optimus Academy, a "cohort" of several thousand robots will undergo training and practice a wide range of tasks. The knowledge they acquire will then be distributed to other units via various software updates.
Elon Musk reiterated that Optimus is more advanced than many of its competitors. He noted that while demonstrations of humanoid robots from other developers may appear impressive, those machines are often simply executing pre-programmed sequences. The Tesla CEO promised to release a new video of Optimus operating under AI control at a later date.
Pilot production of the robots is already underway at the company’s facility in Fremont; however, Tesla has pushed back the delivery of Optimus units to external clients until the end of next year.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully. Item will now be visible on your stream.
