Europe records strong electric-car growth
Battery-electric vehicle registrations across 17 European markets reached 300,202 in September, up 70.3% year over year, according to figures reported by Reuters. BEVs accounted for 32.6% of new-car registrations, while year-to-date registrations reached 1.98 million, an increase of 38.1%. Reuters
Germany recorded 88,724 registrations and France 65,243. Norway remained the most electrified market in the group, with BEVs accounting for 98.8% of new registrations.
The figures point to several factors supporting adoption: government incentives, higher oil prices and a growing supply of more affordable electric models. However, performance remained uneven across Europe, with Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic recording considerably lower BEV shares.
Why it matters: Europe remains a major growth market for electric cars, but the regional differences underline the importance of purchase incentives, charging access and affordable models.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully. Item will now be visible on your stream.
