Sales and delivery figures for major car manufacturers in May 2026 have been released. In terms of New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sales, BYD topped the list with 376,990 passenger cars sold, followed by SAIC and Geely. Chery’s NEV sales surpassed 100,000 units for the second time consecutively.
Leapmotor and Zeekr were among the standout performers, hitting all-time highs again in monthly deliveries. Leapmotor delivered 81,569 units in May, a 81.0% year-on-year increase, marking its fourth consecutive month leading the NEV startups rankings.
