GAC‘s Aion RT battery swap version is scheduled to officially launch on April 8, according to information obtained from official sources. The new variant will support both conventional charging and battery swapping, with the latter enabling a full charge in 99 seconds. This model appeared in regulatory filings four months ago.

For reference, the current Aion RT lineup consists of four available models with prices ranging from 99,800 to 123,800 yuan (14,500 to 17,900 USD).

The Aion RT is positioned as a compact sedan under the brand. The front fascia adopts a closed grille design, flanked by rounded headlight clusters. Below the headlights, gloss-black L-shaped air ducts and a trapezoidal intake opening work to minimise wind resistance. The side profile embraces a coupe-style design with a fastback rear end.
