Chinese battery giant CATL showcased three cutting-edge technologies at the Beijing Auto Show. First, the Shenxing Plus LFP battery offers a 1,500 km range, with 600 km added in 10 minutes of charging, ideal for long-distance EVs. Second, the 4C ultra-fast charging LFP battery achieves 520 km of range in just 5 minutes, targeting high-performance and commercial vehicles. Third, CATL’s sodium-ion battery, set for 2025 mass production, provides a 500 km range and enhanced cold-weather performance. These innovations, leveraging CATL’s expertise in LFP and sodium-ion tech, aim to transform EV affordability and efficiency, with production scaling by late 2025.
