Hongqi upgraded its only electric sedan
The novelty received a larger power reserve and a new color palette. The Chinese state-owned corporation FAW has launched the upgraded Hongqi E-QM5 Plus electric sedan on the market. From the usual E-QM5, the car with the Plus prefix looks no different.
The exterior is already very bold and unusual for the brand, which combines both the already familiar elements of the brand's cars and offers new design solutions. The Chinese media once again talk about the similarity of the front of the car with the anti-hero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe "Venom". In the stern, more familiar boomerang lights are used. By the way, the company has introduced a new color palette, so now the E-QM5 can be very bright and stand out on the road. Dimensions: length - 5040 mm, width - 1910 mm, height - 1569 mm, wheelbase - 2990 mm.
A single electric motor is responsible for the power plant, which has a fairly modest power of 136 horsepower. The 56 kWh lithium phosphate battery is produced by BYD specifically for Hongqi. As standard, on a single charge, the sedan could cover only 431 kilometers on a single charge according to the NEDC methodology. Now in the Plus version, thanks to the optimization of energy consumption, the range has increased to 605 km. Top speed is electronically limited to 130 kilometers per hour.
You can buy Hongqi E-QM5 Plus now. The issue price is 207,800 yuan, that is, approximately 30,500 US$. Before that, the most expensive equipment for an electric sedan cost 165,800 yuan (24,300 US$).
