BAW Jiabao Is Already On The Market

The manufacturer has put on sale three models at a price from 6,900 to 8,400 US dollars. The BAW Company">BAW Jiabao car has four seats and is available in two power reserve options: 122 km and 172 km. By the way, BAW, short for Beijing Auto Works, is now a separate company and is no longer part of Beijing Auto Industry Corporation (BAIC).

This allows BAW to move away from the production of old four-wheel drive cars and master new areas of car marketing.

Earlier, in June 2022, BAW launched a product similar to Jiabao, called Yuanbao, specifically targeted at women. Yuanbao was also produced in four versions with two cruising ranges.

The price range for models with a mileage of 120 km and 170 km is now from 6,900 to 8,400 US dollars. Based on this, BAW Jiabao should compete with Wuling Hongguang MINI EV and Chery QQ Ice Cream.

The overall shape of BAW Jiabao is square and compact. The front part has a classic design of electric vehicles with a closed grille. The size of the BAW Jiabao mini electric car is 3532/1498/1605 mm with a wheelbase of 2275 mm. The car is equipped with 13-inch wheels.

The taillights are square and equipped with LED elements. The BAW Jiabao uses a single rear-mounted engine layout with a power of 25 kW and 100 Nm, and is powered by a 10.88 kWh or 15.12 kWh lithium-ion battery with a corresponding CLTC power reserve of 122 km and 172 km, respectively.

Fast charging is not supported. It takes 7 hours to fully charge in slow charging mode.

The interior is minimalistic and bright thanks to the combination of blue and black colors. The high-end model has a dual screen consisting of a 10.25-inch dashboard and a 10.25-inch central control screen. The younger model is equipped with a dual screen consisting of a 7-inch dashboard and a 7-inch central control screen. Other features include a plastic steering wheel with double spokes, a tire pressure monitoring display, a remote control key, fabric seats, voice interaction and a dual speaker audio system.
