Toyota Previews a New-Generation Corolla EV
Toyota is preparing to bring its best-known nameplate into a new electric era. The next-generation Corolla EV was previewed at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show as part of Toyota’s broader push to develop a new generation of battery-electric vehicles.
The new Corolla is expected to be offered with multiple powertrain options, including battery-electric, hybrid and internal-combustion versions, allowing Toyota to keep the model’s traditional mass-market appeal while expanding into the EV segment.
The electric version could benefit from Toyota’s next-generation BEV technology, including new batteries planned for vehicles launching from 2026. Toyota has announced targets for significantly longer driving ranges, faster charging and lower battery costs for its upcoming EV generation.
Although Toyota has not yet confirmed final specifications, production timing or global market availability for a Corolla EV, the concept signals a potentially major shift for one of the world's best-known compact cars.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully.
