On October 17, 2025, Dongfeng Motor launched the 2026 Nammi 01 EV, a compact electric hatchback, in China with a starting price of 75,800 yuan ($10,600 USD)—a 15,000 yuan ($2,100 USD) reduction compared to its predecessor. Available in four trims priced up to 105,800 yuan ($14,800 USD), the updated model offers a 430 km CLTC range, targeting budget-conscious buyers in the competitive mini EV segment.
Design and Specifications
The 2026 Nammi 01 retains its predecessor's compact dimensions: 4,038 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,660 mm wheelbase. Its exterior sports a refreshed look with slim LED headlights, a closed grille, and new taillights. Built on Dongfeng’s Quantum Architecture No.3 platform, it features a front-mounted 70 kW (94 hp) motor with 160 Nm of torque, achieving a top speed of 140 km/h (87 mph). The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivers a 430 km (267 mile) range, with fast charging from 30–80% in 30 minutes.Interior and Features
The cabin boasts a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard features include keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, and cruise control. Higher trims add Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. The interior emphasizes practicality with ample storage and a minimalist design.
Market Positioning
The Nammi 01 competes with affordable EVs like the BYD Seagull and Wuling Bingo, leveraging its lower price and updated styling to appeal to young urban drivers. Dongfeng’s cost-cutting strategy strengthens its position in China’s crowded mini EV market, where value and range are key.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully.
