Bollinger Motors Is Focused On Commercial Models

The American company Bollinger Motors, known for its project of electric SUVs and pickups, decided to refocus on the production of commercial models. The firstborn of the new direction was the B4 light truck with a cab over the engines and a power reserve of up to 320 km. This is reported by the manufacturer's press service.

Founded in 2015 in the USA, the company Bollinger Motors has begun work on its first brainchild – an electric SUV. In 2018, the company moved to the "heart" of automotive America – Detroit, in order to continue its work at new facilities. During this time, the B1 SUV and the B2 pickup truck were created on its basis. However, the company decided to wait with the "passenger" line and turned their eyes to the huge, but so far little-developed market of commercial vehicles. The first brainchild of Bollinger Motors in this segment was a light truck powered by electric B4.

The novelty belongs to the "Class 4" in the American truck classification. This means that the total weight of the machine is in the range from 6350 to 7260 kg. Competitors for the Bollinger B4 are such popular models in the USA as the Ford F-450, Dodge Ram 4500 and GMC 4500. However, unlike analogues, the novelty has a cabless layout, which will allow more efficient use of the cargo platform and install various options of add-ons on the frame.

The concept of a cab above the engine is a radical difference from our previous developments, we listened to our customers and developed a machine that will allow them to use it as efficiently as possible.

CEO Robert Bollinger

According to Bollinger experts, such an arrangement not only improves visibility and cargo space, but also reduces the turning diameter and increases maneuverability. The turning diameter of the novelty (12.5 m) is the best indicator in the class. For comparison, the Dodge Ram 4500 has this figure of 12.7 m.
