Chery launched the Exeed EX7 in China on April 19, priced from 199,900 to 263,900 yuan (29,200 to 38,600 USD), with early trade-in pricing starting at 194,900 yuan (28,500 USD), according to Y-Auto.
The large five-seat SUV arrives with battery-electric and range-extended variants, becoming the first production model to use the aviation-grade electronic mechanical braking (EMB) system previewed in the model’s March mass-production reveal and detailed again ahead of launch in early April.
The EX7’s headline feature remains its brake-by-wire electronic mechanical braking setup, available on four-wheel-drive versions, which replaces conventional hydraulic architecture with independently controlled wheel-braking motors. Chery claims a 90 ms response time, a braking distance in the 33-meter class, and a 2.5% efficiency benefit through optimised energy recovery, figures previously outlined during pre-launch disclosures and now carried over to the production model.
