USA Presents Fully Electric Garbage Trucks
One of the largest waste disposal companies in the USA, Republic Services, showed the latest electric garbage trucks. Republic Services believes that they will be integrated into the system and by 2028 electric trucks will account for half of the purchases of new garbage trucks in the United States. Now the company has more than 17,000 trucks in its fleet.

By 2030, Republic Services plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35%. For this purpose, the first fully electric truck for recycling and waste collection will be introduced. Prototypes of an electric garbage truck will work on the roads of Phoenix this fall. In 2024, several more test samples will join the fleet.
The chassis and the truck body are designed as a single unit to maximize the interior space. It is equipped with automatic braking, an enlarged windshield for better visibility, 360-degree cameras and lane departure sensors.
