Harley-Davidson Launches LiveWire Brand

Harley-Davidson launches its LiveWire brand of electric motorcycles. The first LiveWire One model can now be ordered (pre-order) in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the very near future, in April 2023.

The launch in Europe is "an exciting step in the company's strategy of geographic expansion and electrification of motorcycles worldwide..

LiveWire said in a statement

LiveWire was originally the name of an electric Harley model, but later became the name of the entire electric traction sub-brand. The Harley-Davidson LiveWire has now been renamed the LiveWire One.

In Germany, the price is 24,990 euros. This makes the LiveWire One much cheaper than the first attempt under the Harley-Davidson brand in 2019: at that time, the model was offered in Germany at a price of 32,995 euros. Interested parties in the four mentioned markets can now reserve an electric motorcycle for 100 euros, and then it should receive priority delivery in April. As stated in the press release, for the distribution of One, 30 dealers in Europe were pre-"equipped with the capabilities of electric vehicles."

LiveWire One for Europe, apparently, largely corresponds to the well-known American version. The battery capacity is indicated as 15.4 kWh, which, according to the US statement, should be enough for a distance of up to 235 kilometers around the city. In the German configurator, 235 kilometers are indicated for the city, and a total of 153 kilometers. There is no up-to-date information about the engine, since the LiveWire was introduced in 2019, the electric motor had a power of 78 kW and, thus, could accelerate the motorcycle to 177 km/h. A ready-to-ride motorcycle should weigh 255 kilograms.
