Porsche intends to launch an all-electric version of the Macan crossover in 2024. It is already known that the model will be built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric), and now there is information about the power plant. The Macan EV will share components and assemblies with the Taycan - two electric motors will be installed on the front and rear axles, in total they will produce 612 hp and 1000 Nm of torque.

The electric Macan is promised wheels with wide tires for better traction, new shock absorbers and adaptive suspension Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). There will be only one battery, its capacity will be 100 kW.h: on a single charge, the crossover will be able to travel more than 500 kilometers.

By the middle of this decade, half of all Porsche models will be electrified, and by 2030, the share of electric vehicles in the model line should reach 80 percent. Last of all, the 911 family will lose gasoline engines.

At the same time, Porsche intends to maximize the life cycle of gasoline models. The automaker is investing tens of millions of dollars in synthetic fuels – carbon-neutral methanol and gasoline will be used in race cars and at Porsche Experience events.
